The Denver Dumb Friends League
The Dumb Friends League, founded in 1910, proudly serves as the most comprehensive provider of direct-to-animal welfare services in Colorado. We provide life-changing services for homeless pets and horses who come to our shelters every day-animals who arrive in need of medical treatment, behavioral services, foster care, and loving homes.
Their facilities include:
Three companion animal shelters in Denver, Castle Rock, and Alamosa, Colorado. More than 21,000 pets were received across these facilities in our last fiscal year.
A rehabilitation and adoption center for equines in Franktown, Colorado.
The Dumb Friends League Veterinary Hospital at CSU Spur in Denver, which provides access to donor-subsidized urgent veterinary services for owned pets whose families cannot afford care.
A low-cost community cat spay/neuter clinic for owned and community pets in Denver.
A mobile pet wellness team that provides low-cost vaccinations, microchips and other basic pet necessities for underserved community members in the Denver metropolitan area.
The Dumb Friends League is a non-profit animal welfare organization that serves communities across Colorado. Our mission: Working with our compassionate community, we will end pet homelessness and animal suffering.
